De Italiaanse producenten die twintig jaar eerder al beroep deden op Boxleitner voor de succesrijke tv-serie HOW THE WEST WAS WON hebben hem gestrikt voor deze avontuurlijke soap, geschreven door het Italiaanse trio Luciano Donati, Luigi Montefiori en Marco Tocchi. Hij is een jonge (nou, ja) Canadese politie- inspecteur en zijn liefje is het titelpersonage, gespeeld door de Amerikaanse soapserie-diva Tylo. Zij is een vrouwelijke chirurg en de dochter van een zeer rijke Indiase maharadja (Da Cunha). Een andere maharadja (Bedi, ook al een veteraan van soapseries, eerder een tieneridool dankzij de Italiaanse serie SANDOKAN) laat zijn lodderoog vallen op de mooie dochter. Dan zitten we midden in de soap-opera. De mooie loot wil bij haar smeris in Canada blijven, maar zij wordt ontvoerd door de rechterhand (Brandon) van de verliefde maharadja. De politieman haast zich uiteraard naar India, samen met een vriend (Young) om zijn geliefde terug te vinden en uit de handen van de vorst te redden. Dat gebeurt natuurlijk, maar niet zonder de obligate obstakels en de nodige pech die herinneringen oproepen aan dergelijke maharadja-films uit de jaren 1930-1950. De locaties mogen er zijn, de kostuums ook, pogingen werden ondernomen om het ongeloofwaardige verteerbaar te maken met vleugjes humor, maar hierin wordt steevast gefaald. Wordt meestal in drie delen uitgezonden, maar soms ook bekort met anderhalf uur.
